2022 Perfect Touch Scholarship Champion

Congrats to John Riddle, 2022 Perfect Touch Champion

B. H. Graning Landscapes & Landscape Supply would like to announce a new Perfect Touch Champion, John Riddle.

Some facts provided by our champion:

  • I am a Sophomore here at Western.
  • I am a Natural Resource Management major with a concentration in forestry.
  • I’m from a remote village in interior Alaska call Galena. Galena is only accessible by bush plane or snowmachine and is located 50 south of the artic circle.
  • I have 4 family members. Three of which are alumni of WCU and the fourth will be a freshman here this upcoming semester.
  • I came to be a part of the WCU community because it runs in my blood. Not only have all my family members attended WCU, but the southern Appalachians is my ancestral home ground.
  • I hope to one day get a job with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) or the US Forest Service. While I’m still unsure on what my career will be long term, I plan on working as a Wildland Firefighter for a few seasons after college (I got officially certified to be a Type II Wildland Firefighter today).
  • I was on my high school’s basketball team for all four years as the starting center, but before the competition, I hadn’t touched a basketball in nearly 2 years.

"I’d like to say thank you to B.H. Graning Landscape and Supplies for giving me the opportunity to participate and also for helping me, a broke college kid, out immensely with some much-needed cash."

~John Riddle, 2022 Perfect Touch Champion

Upgraded Batting Cages in Jackson County, NC.

Little League and B. H. Graning Landscapes makes improvements to batting cages in Jackson County.

"The cages at Fairview have been in place for over 15 years.  Little League and Jackson County constructed cages at Mark Watson in 2022.  Little League obtained 14 rolls of the old turf at WCU football stadium.  B. H. Graning picked up and delivered those rolls to each respective park.  They prepared pads and installed the turf in each respective cage.  B. H. Graning Landscapes did this at a very low cost to Little League as a service to the community.   We are very blessed to B. H. Graning Landscapes as a faithful corporate for Little League.
