B. H. Graning Celebrates Catamount Football as WCU Game Sponsor
B. H. Graning Landscapes, Inc. and B. H. Graning Landscape Supply were proud to serve as the Game Sponsor for Western Carolina University Football on Saturday, September 19, joining Catamount fans for an exciting Family Weekend matchup at E.J. Whitmire Stadium.
And what a game it was!
The Catamounts delivered an impressive 58–14 victory over Presbyterian College, giving the Family Weekend crowd plenty to celebrate. Several weather delays may have interrupted the action, but they certainly didn’t chase away the crowd—or the fun. Fans stuck it out, and the energy remained high throughout the day.
Starting the Day with the BHGL Team
Before heading to the stadium, B. H. Graning employees gathered at our Sylva yard for a mini tailgate. It was a great opportunity for team members to spend time together before making their way to Western Carolina University.
As part of the company’s sponsorship, employees received complimentary tickets to the game, allowing members of the BHGL team to enjoy the afternoon with their families while supporting the Catamounts.
For a company that has called Western North Carolina home for more than 20 years, opportunities like this are about more than having our name at the stadium. They give us a chance to bring our employees and families together while supporting an institution that is such an important part of our community.
Honored with the Game Ball
One of the highlights of the day came when B. H. Graning was recognized for its sponsorship and presented with a WCU game ball.
Representing the company and accepting the game ball were Roger Murajda, General Manager; Lydia Reece, Canton Construction Accounts Manager; and Jessica Graning, Marketing Director.
The recognition was a special moment for our team and another reminder of the strong relationship B. H. Graning has built with Western Carolina University over the years.
Supporting Every Official Review
Our involvement with Catamount Football goes beyond serving as a game sponsor. B. H. Graning Landscapes also sponsors each official review during WCU football games, keeping our company visible throughout the season while supporting Catamount Athletics.
On Saturday, our team was also set up at a vendor table alongside other local businesses and organizations. Visitors stopped by to pick up B. H. Graning swag, learn more about our landscaping, construction, maintenance, and landscape supply services, and hear about current career opportunities with our growing company.
It was a great chance to meet members of the community, connect with Catamount fans, and share more about the many services and career opportunities available with B. H. Graning.
Seeing Our Work on the WCU Campus
Game day also gave our employees and families an opportunity to see some of B. H. Graning’s work firsthand on the Western Carolina University campus.
Fans entering the stadium could check out the landscape improvements completed by our team at the new ticket entrance, while the new Phillips Football Center provided another opportunity to see the craftsmanship and attention to detail our crews bring to projects throughout Western North Carolina.
There is something especially rewarding about attending a community event and seeing a finished project being used and enjoyed by the people it was built to serve. For our employees, it was a chance to take pride not only in our partnership with WCU Athletics, but also in the work our teams have contributed to the university’s continued growth and improvements.

From the mini tailgate and Family Weekend festivities to weather delays, a game-ball presentation, and a big Catamount victory, it was a memorable Saturday from beginning to end.
